ABOUT "MIFFY AND JULIAN"

Miffy and Julian are two fictional characters in my story "The Distance Between Two Points".

Miffy is a young English poet from Bristol who is very charming, doesn't mind that nobody buys her books, and wears a white bunny backpack. She often writes and gossips in pubs with her friends. She works in publishing and gets made redundant every six months.

Julian is a rather gloomy young Chinese professor of English Literature who cares a bit too much that nobody cares about literature anymore. He lives in Hong Kong, is from a wealthy family, and often annoys Miffy by assuming she can afford the same things he can.

One Christmas, on the teeming streets of London, they bump into each other.

MIFFY & JULIAN, the variety magazine, celebrates travel, literature, film, cross-pollinated cultures, and "the distance between two points". It's better than most travel and lifestyle mags because there are no ads for expensive watches!

The Miffy & Julian story originated from a flash fiction piece originally commissioned and illustrated by the 2009 Christmas edition of The Straits Times, Singapore's English daily.

The full story will appear in my fifth book - if books still exist - in 2011 or 2012.
